Jennifer Bishop
Men, Women and Children: 20 Years of Photographs

September 8 - October 5, 2000

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1957, Jennifer Bishop has been photographing Baltimore and the rest of the world for twenty-three years. Part of the collective that began Baltimore's City Paper in 1977, Bishop had a photograph featured in every issue of that publication for seventeen years. She also worked briefly as a staff photographer with the Baltimore News American (1980-81) and since 1982 has freelanced for design firms, advertising agencies, and magazines all over the world. Her exhibit at Photoworks was the first one-woman show for this well-known Baltimore photographer. Her subject, represented in 34 black and white photographs, was the men, women and children of Baltimore over the past twenty years.
